TUAS Laboratory Facilities for Battery and Vehicle Research (summary by Mika Lauren 15.5.2020)
Turku University of Applied Sciences is investing to new laboratory facilities in Kupittaa Campus area. A new EduCity building started in autumn -20. There is listed most important laboratory facilities concerning the battery- and vehicle research.
Battery cell and module research laboratory
- Chroma 17020 battery cell and Module test bench (16 channel)
- Hioki and BRS Messtechnik -impedance measurement analyzers.
SOLAR and DES Laboratories
- R&D development of low voltage DC micro grid for Hybrid EV Bus charging hub
- Battery emulator < 180 kW, up to 1500 V (DC)
- Indoor- and outdoor PV Infrastructures
Engine- and powertrain laboratory
- Four test benches for power system research (electric motors, combustion engines, hybrid powertrains)
- A new AC-dynamometer -460…+460 kW / 2800 Nm
- Gaseous- and particulate emission analyzers
- GT -Suite, Siemens and Matlab / Simulink simulation environments
eRX- Rallycross car
- Battery powered rallycross car
- Borg Warner motor and Celltech battery modules
- Student project work
Chassis dynamometer
- Chassis dynamometer suitable for electric vehicle research
Other Facilities
- Franke -cold chamber up to -55 °C freeze
- Froude -research boat
- Jäspi -boiler and multifuel burner
